to to to to to to to to to 8A, COURIER COUNTY NEWS THURSDAY. DECEMBER 26. 1991 Christmas message enjoyed by all Harrisville News with Willie Jean Shorter Dear Folks, Whether in anticipation of, enjoying the day itself, or everything over for 1991, you may find yourself in a quiet little nook with cup hot coffee maybe reading or just setting quietly in relaxation, or maybe you are quietly giving thanks for the real reason of Christmas. While attending the December meeting of the Recycled Teenagers at New Zion Family Life Center I truly enjoyed the devotion brought by Mr. Mike May.

Everyone is familiar with the Luke 2 Christmas Story but Mr. May used verses 8-14 to being the messages of the Christmas Angels that we not be afraid and Jesus Christ Is devotion was most inspirational and enjoyed by all. Following the devotion a time of food, fun and fellowship found everyone enjoying all. Casey Dear and Mary Alice Mahaffey were the happy winners of door prizes. Simpson General Hospital Auxiliary November 20, 1991 found members Sieg and June Steinberger, Lilla Warren, Ruby Andress, Willie Jean Shorter, Etta Landrum, Lil Grubbs, Elizabeth Dallas, Tyna Scarborough, Bennie Givens, Burssell and Jewel Walker meeting Lerah Busby in Jackson as they attended the Seventeenth Annual Society Assembly of the MI A Society for Hospital Auxiliaries.

The Keynote Speaker was Michael J. Robalais, Vice President Hinds Community College and a great speaker who really knows how to keep audiences attention. A most entertaining luncheon speaker was found in Gene Rester of Ms. Baptist Medical Center and believe me he was great as he spoke, sang, did his comedy routines. All this and a nice lunch was enjoyed by a large crowd.

Simpson General Hospital was well represented with a large attendance of SGH Volunteers and have every reason to be wearing big smiles. Not only did they bring home first place District Scrapbook Award again, but were really proud of their volunteer coordinator June Steinberger during Officer Installation when she was installed as a member of the State Board of Auxiliaries for a 3 year term as Council Representative for the Southwest District. We are truly proud of all her hard work and untiring efforts and Scrapbook Chairman Willie Jean Shorter expresses her appreciation to all who worked so hard and gave so many hours on this project as well as to the Steinbergers as they opened their home to us and all the mess created during this time. Harrisville Eastern Star Monday, December 16, 7:30 p.m. was the date and time and Harrisville Chapter 315 the place for a regular meeting conducted by worthy matron and patron Mary Selrea and Junior Neely.

Member Irene Owen welcomed back following as trip to the hospital and Mendenhall members Nell Herrington and Donna Sullivan welcomed. A short devotion on Christmas Symbols and Meanings presented by Willie Jean Shorter including Candy Cane as a reminder of the Shepherds Lights tells us He is the Light of the World, Star is a symbol of his being the bright and morning star, Wreath or Tree is evergreens and eternal life, Gift and we know Jesus is the greatest gift of all, Holly and its sharp edge a reminder of the Crown of Thom placed on head of Jesus and the red berries the blood he shed. Everyone enjoyed party foods, gifts from the tree and a special time of fellowship in the dining area attractive with decorations in keeping with the holiday theme. 7'on Baptist Church Still a lot of sickness, but we are beginning to recover and hope finally before too long all be back to normal. Forgive no sermon notes as my time in nursery and thanks to Melissa Davis for her help, also Diane and Fanya Allbritton and Brenda Deer with Children's Church.

Mr. Wendall Price was welcomed and shared a very moving testimony during the worship hour.
