Thursday, were Robin Dickens, Ricky Dickens, Mitchell Sharp, Lee Baggett, Larry Sandford and Jerry Sandford. Honorary pallbearers were Roy Davis, Rance Lott, and Lawrence Lott. MICHAELCHAD FARNHAM Michael Chad Farnham, 7, of Taylorsville died Feb. 18 at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was a student at Taylorsville Elementary School.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at Taylorsville Colonial Chapel with Rev. Charles Burnham and Rev. Sidney Davis officiating.

Colonial Chapel of Taylorsville was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Farnham of Taylorsville; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Dewitt Johnson of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. O.G. Hancock of Taylorsville; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. JAMESEVERETT HESTER James Everett Hester, 56, of Mize died Feb.

17 at Magee General Hospital after a longillness. A native of Smith County, he was an owner of an auto body shop and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Rev. F.C. Rader and Rev.

R.E. Clark officiated at funeral services held Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Providence Cemetery. Mims Mitchell was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two brothers, Marion Hester of Taylorsville and Hershell Hester of Soso; one niece, Mrs. Margurite Woodard. of Taylorsville; one nephew, Billy Hester of Soso; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. MATILDA JANE MAYFIELD Mrs. Matilda Jane Mayfield, 81, of Mize, passed away Feb.

23 at Magee General Hospital after a lengthy illness. A member of Rose Hill Bapist Church, she was a native of Smith County. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. from Rose Hill Baptist Church with Rev.

Giles Hankins, Rev. Mike Thompson, and Rev. James Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery and Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by her husband, G.L.

Mayfield of Mize; two daughters, Reyvil Bryant and Mrs. Roma M. Shealy, both of Mize; three brothers, Melvin Ingram, Howard Ingram, and Martin Ingram, all of Mize; one sister, Mrs. Irene O'Neal of Laurel; six granchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. HARLEY W.

MATTHEWS Harley W. Matthews of 1102 Wood Dale, Jackson died early Friday morning Feb. 6. He had been hospitalized since early Tuesday. He is was 65 years old.

He is survived by his wife Johnny Slay Matthews; two sons, Mike Matthews of Brooksville, Fla. and David Matthews of Jackson; a daughter, Susan Stewart of Mendenhall; five grandchildren and one sister, February 26, 1981 Simpson County News, Mendenhall, Miss. 7B GEORGIA MILDRED BROWN Mrs. Georgia Mildred Brown, 85, of Magee passed away Feb. 21 at -Magee General Hospital a lengthy illness.

A retired nurses' aide, she was a native of Sim-pson County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Services were conducted from Mt. Zion Baptist Church Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

with Rev. Don Nerren, Rev. Phillip Douglas and Rev. Kenneth Ray McQueen officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by fours sons, Claude M. Brown, Frank Brown, and Bob Brown, all of Houston, and Dale V. Brown of Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Booth of D'Lo, Mrs. Perry of Sarasota, and Mrs.

Mary Jane Walker of Magee; twentyfive grandchildren; thirtyone great grandchildren; and a number of neices and nephews. Pallbearers were Grover Windham, George Magee, George Daughdrill, W.J. Smith, Henry Roberts, and James Edward Malley. JOSEPH ATLEE CAUGHMAN Joseph Atlee Caugh- 1 man, 97, of Magee passed away Feb. 18 at Hillcrest Health Center in Magee following a lengthy illness.

A retired farmer, he was a resident of Simpson and a member of the First Congregational Methodist Church. Funeral services were held from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Randall Childress and Rev.

Oliver Ladnier officiating. Burial was in the Magee Cemetery and Mims Mitchell was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Downey of Mission, Mrs. Carlyn Hahn of Columbia and Mrs.

Mildred McIntosh of Jackson; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces nephews. Active pallbearers were Jack Pace, Homer Garrett, A.W. Stubbs, Wiley Ainsworth, Claude Herrington and Jimmy Holbrook. JIMMY LOYD DICKENS Jimmy Loyd Dickens of Collins died Feb. 20 at -Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg following a brief illness.

The thirty-one year old was a member of South Baptist Church and a resident of -Covington County. Johns Funeral Home of Collins was in charge of arrangements. Services were held -Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m. from the Cold Springs Baptist Church.

Rev. Vernon Boykin, Rev. M.L. Cameron and Rev. Harris officiated the service from Cold Springs Baptist Church' and burial was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Dickens of two brothers, John C. Dickens, Jr.

of Hattiesburg and Joseph D. Dickens of Collins; his paternal grandmother, Jim Dickens of Collins; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lawrence Bishop of Ellisville; one 'nieces, nephews and frienActive pallbearers Mrs. Lucy Austin of Biloxi. Services were conducted at 3 p.m.

from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Interment was in Mendenhall Cemetery. TIMON RHODELL NICHOLS Timon Rhodell Nichols, 74, of Mount Olive passed away Feb. 18 at West Carroll Parish Hospital, Oak Grove, after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Covington County and a member of Cooley Springs Baptist Church.

He was a retired pipe line construction worker. Services were held from Cooley Springs Baptist. Church with Rev. Tommy McNair and Rev. Rainey officiating and burial was in the church cemetery.

Mims Mitchell was in charge of Survivors include three sons, Douglas Nichols of Houston, Jerry Nichols of Winnsboro, and Jimmy Nichols of Las Vegas, three daughters, Mrs. Jeanetta Stuart, of Pearl, Mrs. Mildred Hodges of Jackson and Mrs. Katie Hopson of Kooskia, Idaho; one brother, Lavell Nichols of Mt. Olive; one sister, Mrs.

Eva Williams of Meridian; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. THOMAS HENRY PRICE, SR. Thomas Henry Price, 90, of Mendenhall died Sunday, Feb. 22, at Sim- pson veral Hospital. 1.

County native was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a World War I veteran. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Feb. 23, from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Land and Rev. Harold Floyd officiating.

Colonial Chapel of Mendenhall was in charge of arrangements, and burial was at Fellowship Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Reba Wooten of Chanelview, Mrs. Katherine Price of Mendenhall, and Mrs. Bess Ponder of Jackson; two sons, Thomas H.

Price, of Jackson, and Billy Price of Mendenhall; fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of niece and two nephews. ds. PAULGRANVILLE WALKER Paul Granville Walker, 37, of Magee died suddenly Feb. 23. The Simpson County native was born July 10, 1943 and was the owner of a body repair shop.

Funeral services were conducted from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. Rev. Billy Guest and Rev. Mark Hayden officiated the service.

Burial was in Goodwater Cemetery and Mims Michell Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by one son, Paul G. Walker, of Ellisville; two daughters, Miss Ola Carlotta Walker of Ellisville and Miss Paula Ruth Walker of Mendenhall; three brothers, Carl F. Walker, Troy C. Walker, and Sammy G.

Walker, all of Magee; and a host of friends and relatives. SAMUEL W. WALKER, SR. Samuel W. Walker, of Pinola died Feb.

18 in Simpson General Hospital at the age of 82. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 22, at New Zion Bapitst Church. The Rev. Willie A.

White presided. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, the former Laurenda Black, and two brothers, Willie Walker of Hattiesburg and Manuel Walker of Pinola. He leaves three daughters and six sons, Magnolia Black of Pinola, Viola Smith of Somerset, N.J., Laura Edison of Carson, Charles Walker of Alta Loma, James Walker of Cerritos, John Walker and Huey Walker, of Lansing, and Robert Lee Walker and Sam Walker, of Pinola. Mr.

Walker also leaves 30 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one greatgreat grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. ALTON BROOKS WHETSTONE Alton Brooks Whetstone, 76, of Magee passed away Feb. 20 at the VA Hospital in Jackson. A retired law enforcement officer with Ingalls Ship Yard, he was a member of Goodwater Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Feb.

22 at 3 p.m. from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee with Rev. Martin Hayden and Rev. Dan West officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Goodwater Cemetery.
