Ferrell receives UM degree Cindy Gale Ferrell of Magee recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi with the Bachelor of Science in Business degree. Ms. Ferrell was among 1,156 candidates for degrees for the spring semester at Ole Miss. Miss Floyd and Gaila Mrs. Eastside Baptist Church was the setting of Gaila Garrett and Damon Colson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Garrett of Magee, Damon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Colson of Magee.

Rev. Ronnie Jones officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The wedding arch and columns holding arrangements of yellow and ivory roses and gypsophelia, and banks of emerald palms flanked by tree and spiral candelabras accented with white tapers formed the background for the exchange of vows. The candletrees held arrangements of yellow and white roses accented with baby's breath. Muptial music was presented by Maxine Mangum of Brandon, aunt of the groom.

Vocal selection were "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us" and "Father" by Dana Davidson; and a duet entitled "Endless by Timmy and Melanie Hubbard. The bride, escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, wore a white formal, gown of slipper satin. The bodice was covered in re-embroidered alencon lace, jewelled with seed pearls and featured a Queen Anne neckline. Her long fitted sleeves were molded in lace, beaded in pearls and fastened with covered buttons. A gentle a-line skirt from a slight empire waist flared full into a cathedral train.

She wore a cathedral length veil completely bordered in re-embroidered alencon lace. The mantilla was enhanced by matching lace and seed pearls. The bride carried a triple cascade of yellow sweetheart roses and stephanotis accented with gypsophelia, seed: pearls and lace streamers. Maid of honor was Tina Peden, sister of the bride. Hamilton Garrett Damon Pam Herchenhahn, Lisa Hodge, Lucinda Lack and Cathy Calhoun, all of Magee. The attendants wore identical yellow matte taffeta gowns with off shoulder ruffles and cummerbund belts, their colonial bouquets were of ivory roses accented with gypsophelia and yellow ribbon puffs and streamers. Serving as flower girls were Audra and Dorinda Colson, sisters of the groom. Their gowns were identical to the bridesmaids. Mrs.

Garrett, mother of the bride wore a paeon blue taffeta gown, which was enhanced with a victorian puff sleeved jacket. Mrs. Colson, mother of the groom, chose an aqua Crepe de Chine gown. Both mothers wore orchid corsages. Mrs.

Garrett, grandmother of the bride wore a gown in shades of blue chiffon and Mrs. McDonald, of Laurel, grandmother of the groom chose a gown of mauve polyester and lace. Both grandmothers wore orchid corsages. Mr. Colson served his son as best man.

Groomsmen were Ivan and Eric Colson, brothers of the groom, Robbie Sullivan of Mt. Olive, and David Peden, brother-in-law of the bride. Junior groomsman was Gary Garrett, II, brother of the bride. Ushers were Scott Hubbard of Magee, and Jeff Herrin of Braxton. The reception immediately following the wedding ceremony was held in the church hall.

Tea girls were Sonya Hamblett of Magee, Paula Floyd, Julie Welch, Jeannie Patterson and Delwyn Broadhead, all of Mendenhall. Serving as rice girls were Tracey Barnard, Jennifer McNeil, Angel McPhail and Bethany Ates, all of Magee. Cindy Williams of Magee served at the registrar table. At Mynelle Gardens WoMack, Hall marry 1982 Simpson County News 1B Miss Floyd to wed Mr. Tammy Bernard Mr.

and Mrs. Johnnie R. Floyd announce the approaching marriage of their daughter Nannette Floyd to Tammy Bernard Hamilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hamilton of Mendenhall.

Miss Floyd is a 1982 graduate of Magee High School and Mr. Hamilton is a 1978 graduate of Men- denhall presently employed at Universal Manufacturing plant. Miss Floyd was in the 1982 Who's Who pageant. The wedding ceremony will be held at Goodwater Methodist Church on June 26 at 2:30 p.m. Friends are invited to share in this event.

The reception will be follow in the fellowship hall. Boles-Irwin nuptial plans revealed Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson of Jackson announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Karen Boles, to Drew Irwin, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Judson Irwin of D'Lo. The wedding will be July 10 at 3 o'clock at Parkway Baptist Church in Jackson. All friends are invited to attend the wedding ceremony and reception at the church. becomes Colson After a wedding trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, the couple will make their home in Magee. Mr.

Christina Lynn WoMack and David Gene Hall exchanged marriage vows in 1 a morning ceremony i in Jackson at Mynelle Gardens, June 5. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Myron "Sonny" WoMack of Mendenhall and Mr. and Mrs.

Bobby Gene Hall of Natchez. Rev. Charles Case, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, officiated at the double-ring ceremonv. The nuptial music was presented by by Mrs. B.B.

Rosenbaum of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, harpist. The soloist was Ken Lancaster of Corinth. The ceremony was solemnized in the wedding garden of Mynelle Gardens where the guests, upon entering a white gazebo, were surrounded by azalea bushes, magnolia trees and a host of yellow lillies The altar was placed in front of Mynelle's lovely lake. The path leading to the wedding are was gaily decorated with white ribbons. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of white silk organza, with a Queen Anne neckline, featuring a fitted A-line skirt that swept around to a Cathedral length train, both of which were edged with Alencon lace and decorated with Alencon lace and pearl motifs.

The long fitted lace sleeves fastened at the wrist with pearls and were also decorated with Alencon lace and pearl motifs. The bride's antebellum hat was of pearls and lace with a bow of silk illusion gracing the back and sprinkled. with pearl and lace motifs. The bridal bouquet was a cascade of yellow, white and apricot butterfly roses and yellow enchantment lillies mixed with stephanotis, baby breath and white dogwood, all intertwined with ivy leaves and white, yellow and apricot ribbons. The attendants wore offthe-shoulder white gowns with a light floral print of apricot and lilac flowers with a fitted waistline and tied with an apricot ribbon.

They carried bouquets of apricot butterfly roses and yellow enchantment lillies mixed with stephanotis and baby breath. Yellow apricot and lilac ribbons tied in love knots fell gently from the bouquets. The attendants also wore original designed flower halos of apricot and white flowers with apricot, yellow, lilac and white ribbons tied in love knots hanging to their shoulders. Miss Wendy Johnson of Gulfport, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Tracie WoMack of Mendenhall, sister of the bride, Miss Karen Fairly of Jackson, Miss Joy Mangum of Mendenhall, and Mrs.

Cindy Lynch of Vicksburg. The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Stephens of Atlanta, Reber Brown of Tucson, Mark Mitchell of Jackson, and Stephen Hamilton of Houston, Tex. Ushers were Kevin O'Malley of Natchez and Warren Williams of Jackson. The mother of the bride wore a gown of silvery-blue chiffon gathered at the bodice with pearls.

The groom's mother wore a dress of sea-foam green with a pleated shirt in flowing chiffon. Both mothers wore white roses corsages. The reception was held at Mynelle Gardens in the Westbrook Home. Miss Renee Place, of CoCo Beach, greeted the guest at the register. The reception hostesses were Miss Sheila Thrash of Forest, Miss Lydia Scarborough of Jackson, Miss Margo Templeton of Memphis, Mrs.

Glenda Weaver and Mrs. Virginia Clifton both of Natchez. The bridal table was covered with a white lace cloth. 1 It held the wedding cake, a Johns creation, which was decorated with white and pale yellow rosebuds and miniature bride and groom. A brass table nearby held the silver punch service.

Mrs. David Gene Hall The groom's table held a two-tiered chocolate cake decorated with a medical caduceus, symbolizing the groom's profession. It also held a silver coffee service. The champagne fountain with pink champagne and a miniature bridal bouquet atop was seated on brass table in the house atrium. The brass table with candelabras and apricot candles held wicker baskets decorated with apricot and yellow ribbons and lillies-of-the-valley.

They held rice bags tied with yellow and apricot ribbons. Rice girls were Angela McGee of Pelahatchie and Cindy Sanders of Mendenhall. The couple was showered with rice as they dashed to the groom's car, decorated with purple, green and gold streamers, the groom's fraternity colors, and filled with balloons. For her wedding trip to the Island of Aruba in the Netherland Antilles, the bride chose a white linen suit, highlighted by a fuschia silk blouse. On the eve of the wedding, the wedding party was entertained at Cerami's Restaurant at the Reservoir with an Italian dinner hosted by the grooms parents. Prior to the wedding the bride was the guest-ofhonor at several showers: a miscellaneous shower in Natchez, at the home of Mrs. Gloria Reed, a Miscellaneous shower in Mendenhall at Macedonia Baptist Church, a linen shower in Mendenhall at the home of Miss Joy Mangum, a miscellaneous shower in Natchez at the home of Mrs.

Glenda Weaver, a msicellaneous shower in Natchez at Grace Methodist Church, and a miscellaneous shower in Jackson at the home of Mrs. Florene Oldham. The bridesmaids' luncheon was held at the Potpourri Restaurant at D.H. Holmes in Jackson. our deepest sympathy to the family of Mr.

D.C. Haley. He passed away recently and will be missed by all in the community. Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Everett enjoyed a trip to the world's fair recently. Glad to report they had a nice time. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Warren enjoyed having their daughter Jo Ann and her family home for a week.
